Hero and Me by Brian A. Crandall

HERO AND ME is a podcast that celebrates exceptionalism, not as a thing that distinguishes notable figures of the past from our own times, but as an ideal that links us together and inspires us to be the very best that we can be.

About The Hero and Me Podcast

Written and Directed by Brian A. Crandall

Do you remember when we were kids and our teachers used to ask us "Who is your role model and why? Explain in five paragraphs..." And then when you got older that question began to sound naive and maybe a bit unsophisticated.

Inheriting the enlightenment attitude that we are standing on the shoulders of giants, we throw away the ancient notion that there are saints worth imitating. I believe that both of those extremes are flawed. With that said, this podcast will be proposing two things :

  • We need to rethink what a role model is!

  • And that in this day in age we cannot afford to not have role models.

For little Brian A. Crandall, the answer to that cliche question was Davy Crockett, King of the Wild Frontier. It just so happens that he recently got back in touch with his old hero. And he will be using his inspirational story full of highs and lows paralleled with his own personal narrative living as a producer in Korea, to support his claims.
